Arte Povera & ink
Arte Povera installation
Arte Povera installation: "o.T."
RESOWI Center, Universitätsstraße 15, Building D
The Greek artist Jannis Kounellis is one of the most important representatives of Arte Povera. The materials used in his works are also derived from this - steel, jute sacks, hemp ropes, raw wooden beams and coal. For the RESOWI Center, he created a four-part installation that interprets the university as a "place of conserved knowledge". The materials used - wood, stone, iron and coal - stand for evolution, dialectics and the cultural history of mankind.
Ink on concrete
RESOWI-Zentrum, Universitätsstraße 15, Building A/E and library
In his typical choice of materials and formal language, Austrian artist Franz Graf places his lettering and text images as well as graphic drawings in black ink on the exposed concrete background in various places in the faculty library.
